Who got a new camera for Christmas? I see some hands raised! :) Now then, who is a little bit intimidated by all the bells and whistles on your new camera? (It’s okay to raise your hand!) If you own a DSLR camera and want to know more about how to use it to better your photo taking, then this class is for you! Whether you have just taken your camera out of the box, or have been photographing your kiddos with it for some time now, this hands-on workshop will help you learn how to unlock some of the potential that your new camera holds.
About this workshop: This three-hour workshop is for DSLR users who do not yet have a good understanding of how to use their camera’s functions outside of auto mode. It is specifically geared toward moms and dads who like to take pictures of their kids and family and want to learn how to use their camera to take better, more interesting pictures.
What is covered: --General information about your camera and lenses --General rules for composition and how they can improve your photos --Basic lighting tips for both indoor and outdoor photos --Using your camera’s controls and settings to be more in-control of your photo-taking --The basics of shooting in manual mode: ISO, shutter speed, and aperture
What is included: --Workbook that details the lessons learned at the workshop for you to keep and refer to afterward --Hands-on shooting time to practice what we are learning --Q&A with Sondra --Coffee, water and light refreshments will be served
What to bring: --Your DSLR camera (and camera manual if available, although not required) --Your lens(es) --Questions . . . don’t be afraid to ask questions! This workshop is to help you learn more about your equipment and questions are welcomed.
Workshop cost: $125 The registration fee is due in full at the time of registration. Your registration fee is not refundable, but if you are unable to attend, your seat may be sold to someone else. All major credit cards as well as personal check are accepted.
Workshop date & location: Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at 1:00pm This workshop will be held in a conference space at my office complex in West Knoxville.
What this workshop is not: This workshop is not for professional photographers or those with to the desire to have a photography business in the future. No three-hour course can prepare you for pro-photography. :) Posing, creative techniques, extensive lighting, and photoshop/editing will not be covered in this class, and there will be no business discussions. This class is specifically for hobbyists and enthusiasts, and it is specifically focused on moms and dads taking photos of their kiddos.
